Understanding Color Psychology

Color plays a huge role in our personal choices whether it's home decor, fashion, car color, or even the type of gum we choose at the store. There is a reason why people prefer certain colors over others. The preference says volumes about our personalities, because each color has an association with a reaction our brain has when we internalize it. Artists and interior designers have long believed that color can dramatically affect moods, feelings, and emotions. Pablo Picasso, the famous Spanish artist, once stated, "Colors, like features, follow the changes of the emotions."

So how exactly does each color impact mood and behavior?
